During the last quarter of 2025 we will collect new toys for children of various ages. In December we will host a “Christmas Shopping Experience” for eighty (80) identified families in need. At the “Christmas Shopping Experience”, the parents/guardians will be invited to select presents for all the children in their family (ages infant to 17). Volunteers will also be available to aid parents with their shopping experience and to wrap the presents for them if they wish.

HOW WE PLAN TO ACCOMPLISH

To reach our goals we need to address the following items:

Adding additional Participating Organizations: There is already a strong interest throughout the Nordonia Hills community for this endeavor. If, as an individual or business, you are interested in helping to make this event a success, please see the ‘HOW CAN YOU HELP’ section below for information on how to get in touch to become a participating organization.

Collecting new toys and/or funds to purchase toys: This portion of the mission has already begun in earnest at several of our participating organizations. To offer the appropriate options for the parents to choose from we will be collecting upwards of 1,600 toys. Most of these will be new but we will have some premium items, such as refurbished bikes. Identifying those families in need and maintaining anonymity for them: This is the most important goal of our mission. To accomplish this we have partnered with the Nordonia Hills City School District. The school district will identify those families in need and provide contact information so they may be invited to participate in the event.

Carrying out the ‘Christmas Shopping Experience’: This is the main event! Volunteers will be needed to help set up tables, organize the presents, escort the participants during the “shopping” event, wrap the presents selected by the participants (if desired), and help clean up and take down tables afterwards. HOW CAN YOU HELP

Individual Volunteers:

• Help advertise this effort within your organization and the community.
• Consider working with one of our participating organizations to help in achieving our goals.
• Get involved and join our effort. Any help you can offer will be deeply appreciated!

Business Volunteers:

• Consider becoming a participating organization and help in supporting our efforts.
• Allow a drop-off/collection box at your location for toy donations (during the month of November)
• Advertise for this effort within your organization to spread knowledge of our efforts to the community.
• Donate gift cards to be passed out to the families in $25 denominations.
